Heavy air cargo with simplified customs

Heavy air cargo
at freight rates, not courier rates

For getting 100 kilos or more out of the country — a machine, spare parts, goods bought in Colombia — without paying parcel rates. It travels as formal air freight, with simplified customs, to the destination airport. A company or an individual can ship.

Who it was built for

Three specific cases, and it is worth recognising yourself in one of them before reading on.

The first: you have already paid for the goods in Colombia. Because the payment happened here, the shipment can no longer go out through the international trading company — that route requires the payment to arrive from abroad to Excolbi, which then pays the supplier. If the money already moved inside Colombia, that door is closed. Courier Freight is the one that stays open.

The second: your cargo is large and express courier rates make it prohibitive. Parcel pricing is built for boxes, not for volume. Past a certain weight it stops making sense.

The third: you are not a company, you are a person. You bought a machine, spare parts or goods in Colombia and need them in another country. Through this route you can export with your ID or passport, without setting up a company or registering as an exporter. When we quote, we tell you which outbound paperwork applies.

From 100 kilos to a full aircraft

That is the range. It is not parcel service under another name: it is formal air freight handling with simplified customs, which is what makes it possible to move volume without the cost and the delay of the full procedure.

Against an express courier rate, the saving on charges is around half. How much exactly depends on weight, volume and destination, so the figure is calculated on your cargo when we quote.

Delivered at the destination airport

The service runs under CIP terms: the cargo is placed at the destination airport, with transport and insurance covered up to that point. You know from the outset where our responsibility ends and yours begins.

And clearance at destination is formal. This is not a shipment slipping in through the back door: it is declared cargo, available to the customs authority of the receiving country.

Where we receive the cargo

At our Medellín or Bogotá office, or at our Cartagena drop-off point, which works by appointment. It is weighed and measured there before we quote firm, because the price depends on those two figures and an eyeball estimate almost always falls short.

If you are in another city, you send it to whichever point is closest and it ships from there. It is one extra step, but it is the one that guarantees the quote is the bill.

What we need to quote

Weight, volume, what the goods are and which airport they are going to. That gives us the number, and we confirm whether your case fits here or whether another route suits you better.

Questions

What buyers ask us most

I already paid for the goods in Colombia. Can I still export?

Yes, and that is what this service exists for. Once payment has been made inside Colombia, the shipment cannot go through the international trading company, which requires payment to come from abroad. Courier Freight solves exactly that case.

How is it different from a normal courier?

In size and in procedure. International courier moves parcels; this is formal air freight handling from 100 kilos up, with simplified customs and formal clearance at destination.

How much cheaper is it?

Against an express courier rate, the saving on charges is around half. The exact figure depends on weight, volume and destination, so it is calculated on your cargo when we quote.

How far does delivery go?

To the destination airport, which is what the CIP incoterm means. Transport and insurance are covered up to that point; collection from the airport is on you.

Can I ship as an individual, without a company?

Yes. It is one of the cases the service exists for: someone who bought a machine, spare parts or goods in Colombia and needs to get them out of the country. You export with your ID and the outbound paperwork we specify when we quote; there is no need to set up a company or register as an exporter.

Do you collect cargo in any city?

Cargo is received in Medellín, Bogotá or Cartagena, the last one by appointment. It is weighed and measured there before we quote firm. From another city, you send it to whichever point is closest and it ships from there. We do it this way because the price depends on real weight and dimensions, not on an estimate.

Before we quote anything, tell us what you want to buy or move. We will tell you which documents the operation requires, how it is best structured and which costs you can avoid at destination. If working with us turns out not to suit you, you keep the information anyway.
