Insurance bought separately forces two providers to agree at the worst possible moment: when there is a claim. The operator says the goods left in good order, the insurer asks for documents the operator never issued, and the cargo owner is caught in between.
Arranged inside the same operation, the shipping paperwork and the policy paperwork come from the same hand. That is the difference between a claim and an argument.
What is worth insuring
Not all cargo needs the same cover. What determines it is the declared value, the transport mode, the number of transhipments and how replaceable the goods are. A container of garments and a one-off machine are not insured the same way.
In the quote we tell you which cover fits your case and what it adds to the total. It is almost always a small percentage against the value of what travels.

Is insurance compulsory?
No, but it is advisable whenever the value of the goods justifies the premium. We give you both figures in the quote so the comparison is yours to make.
What cover does my cargo have?
It depends on the declared value, the transport mode and the type of goods. The specific terms are set out in the policy that applies to your operation; nothing is assumed.
Can I insure a single shipment?
Yes. Cover is arranged per operation, so there is no annual volume to commit to in order to insure a one-off shipment.
