We receive the goods from each of your suppliers in Medellín, bring them together under one shipment and export them as a single operation. You stop paying for five exports and pay for one.
The problem it solves
When a foreign buyer puts together a range in Colombia, they rarely do it with one supplier. The garments come from one workshop, the trims from another, the packaging from a third. If each one exports separately, the buyer ends up paying three freight charges, three customs procedures and three separate arrivals — with a fair chance that one runs late and throws off the whole season.
Consolidation reverses that: the goods travel together, arrive together and clear customs once.
How it works
You negotiate and buy directly from each Colombian supplier, exactly as you would anyway. The only thing that changes is the delivery address: instead of shipping abroad, each supplier delivers to our warehouse in Medellín.
We receive the goods, check them against each supplier invoice, repack where the transport mode requires it and build a single shipment. From there it is an ordinary export, with Excolbi as exporter of record.
Where the saving is
In three places, and the order matters. First, freight: a consolidated shipment uses weight and volume far better than several loose ones. Second, paperwork: one export file instead of one per supplier. Third — usually the largest — at destination: a single import clearance and a single customs release.
How much you save depends on the corridor, the weight and the number of suppliers, so we do not publish figures: it is calculated on your specific case when we quote.
What buyers ask us most
Do I have to buy everything at the same time?
No. Goods can arrive at our warehouse as each supplier dispatches them. The shipment leaves when it is complete, or when you decide to close it even if something is missing.
Do you check what each supplier delivers?
Yes. We compare what arrives against the invoice or purchase order you share with us and flag any discrepancy before the shipment leaves the country — which is while it can still be corrected.
Can I consolidate if my suppliers are in other cities?
Yes. The warehouse is in Medellín, but the goods can come from anywhere in the country: inland transport to our warehouse is included in the quote.
Does it work for small shipments?
It works above all when there are several suppliers, whatever the size. For a single parcel from one origin, international courier is usually the better fit.
